This Year's Speaker:

Jesse Brinson is the Youth Director for Called to Greatness Ministries and a high school football coach, but more than that, he is a son, a husband to his wife, father to his children (Aundre, Shawn, Zeb and Ayanna) and friend. He has been ministering to middle school and high school students for six years and enjoys every moment of it.

From the inner city streets of Houston, where he was involved in drugs and gang activity, to the opportunity as a walk-on football player at the University of Kansas, Jesse aims to help young men find their identity in Jesus Christ alone.

"As a teenager," says Jesse, "my hope and identity was football. After I gave up selling drugs, I began to believe that football was my only way of finding financial success and a hope for the future. I let the opportunities I had in sports and the success I had in other areas of my life define me. It became my costume."

Not long after being on the KU campus, Jesse soon discovered that Jesus wanted to give him an identity that was shaped by God alone. On September 25, Jesse is going to share the message of seeing identity from a different perspective than the way we see here on Earth. His hope is that young men are not defined by the culture, and that they don't receive a costume that they have to live up to that won't be satisfying or fulfilling.
